“I’ve known of Remy (aka Zachary Berkowitz) since before Restless Nites and his move to LA. He grew up in Las Vegas, spent some time in Portland but felt it was too small, then went to LA.

He has always been a drug dealer. He wanted to be in the music scene and hang around people he finds important but can’t produce or DJ. He bankrolled his event promotion by dealing from day 1.

To say its an event ticketing company is a touch of a misnomer. He is a drug dealer who puts on parties and networks with other parties, through his drug dealing. Which is fine – the techno and rave scenes are partly run off that. Almost everyone in the scene who does events at that scale is either a dealer, owns a sound system, or part of a DJ/producer collective. Its not a putdown. But that was his role. He was better at washing his public persona to seem more of a cultural organizer, but anyone who knew him knew that drug were his entry ticket into that world.

If all three of those people died, and its suspected to be a fentanyl overdose, it is 99.99% Remy’s doing. And I just saw (in the middle of writing this post) a friend of Juan’s come out and namecheck Remy as the cause of all this, so I don’t think its a stretch anymore.”
