“Peach Palpatine” started being used in YouTube comments as a nickname for President Trump in September 2026.

Palpatine is a surname and, in popular culture, primarily refers to Sheev Palpatine, the principal antagonist of Star Wars.

By extension, “Palpatine” can be used informally to describe a scheming, authoritarian political figure who manipulates institutions and rivals to accumulate power, particularly one who presents themselves as legitimate or benevolent while pursuing authoritarian control.

The name is also sometimes used as shorthand for a manipulative behind-the-scenes power broker.

In the case of the U.S. President, the “Peach” is a reference to his perceived skin tone, which is usually referred to as Orange.
