Small Claims Process & Fees for Los Angeles Superior Court

To file a small claims case in Los Angeles Superior Court:

1. Fill out the SC-100 Plaintiff’s Claim form.
2. File the form with the court clerk.
3. Pay the filing fee, which is based on the amount of your claim:
   • $50 for claims between $1,500.01 and $5,000
   • $75 for claims between $5,000.01 and $12,500

• Individuals can file claims up to $12,500.

Submit copies of your evidence to the court and other parties at least 10 days before your hearing, whether appearing in person, by phone, or virtually.
