Sercan Naldoken

Man charged with the murder of Lisa Conduff in Downey, California.

Sercan Naldöken is an Austria-born man of Turkish descent. He was arrested at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana at 10:22 p.m., a little more than 12 hours after an officer discovered a woman’s body ditched behind a freeway sound wall.

A CHP officer saw an Acura sedan on the right shoulder of the eastbound 60 Freeway, east of Diamond Bar Boulevard, at around 10:45 a.m. and stopped behind it to offer help. He could not find anyone inside the car, however. After looking around, he spotted the body.

Naldöken had at least two prior arrests in L.A. and Riverside counties for comparatively minor crimes.

His next court date is set for October 30, 2023.
