Sean Charles Dunn
Man charged with assault for throwing a sandwich at a federal officer in Washington.
Sean Charles Dunn worked for the Justice Department and has been fired. He was charged in Washington federal court under a federal statute prohibiting assaulting, resisting, or interfering with federal law enforcement officers, which includes both simple assault and assault with a deadly weapon. Attorney General Pam Bondi said he’d been charged with felony assault.
Dunn is an international affairs specialist with the Office of International Affairs within the department’s criminal division, according to a Justice Department official. The office handles international extraditions, prisoner swaps, and other overseas operations.
He is also an Air Force veteran. He is 37 years old.
The video of Dunn throwing the sandwich was taken and shared by Cortez Dargin, 28, a native of the District of Columbia. Dunn managed to hit the federal officer square in the chest.
Dunn may have been inebriated during the incident.
