Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho is 41 years old and of Arab Brazilian descent.
On May 5, 2025, he was involved in a road-rage incident on Highway 26, where he intentionally rammed his blue Kia Carnival into a motorcyclist, causing the rider to lose control and fall. The motorcyclist, identified as Correy, was seriously injured and thrown over 200 feet but was later discharged from the hospital.
Pazzoto-Filho fled the scene but was arrested later that day at his home after a community tip led police to his location. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, hit-and-run felony, reckless driving, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police believe he had been driving recklessly in the days leading up to the crash and are seeking information on his prior driving behavior.
