Michelle Zajko
Michelle Zajko is a 32-year-old woman who is currently a person of interest in multiple criminal investigations. She is believed to have purchased the handguns used in the fatal shooting of U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland in Vermont on January 20, 2025. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has issued an alert to firearms dealers, asking them to review their records for any transactions involving Zajko.
In addition to her connection to the Vermont shooting, Zajko is also a person of interest in the 2023 double murder of her parents, Richard and Rita Zajko, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The couple was found shot to death in their home, and authorities believe Zajko may have been involved.
Zajko is considered armed and dangerous and adheres to an “anti-law enforcement ideology,” according to police records. She is believed to be driving a green 2013 Subaru Outback with an expired Vermont registration. Authorities urge anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
