Michelangelo Pinto

Man who committed suicide in L.A. County in October 2025 at the age of 57.

Michelangelo Pinto was an executive chef from Naples, known for his work at Locanda Positano, a contemporary Italian restaurant in the Marina del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles. He earned recognition for the restaurant several times, notably being highlighted in the esteemed Gambero Rosso Guide multiple years (2019, 2020, 2023, and 2024) for offering top-quality Italian cuisine.

Chef Pinto had posted in January 2025 that after 15 years, he had renewed the lease on his restaurant space. His death, however, seems to have left his stateside family in financial hardship and his relatives in his home country in the dark.
