Mason Royal

Chef and husband of Lily Rosenthal (the daughter of Phil Rosenthal).

Mason Royal is the head chef at the newly open diner Max & Helen’s, a project of his father-in-law and Nancy Silverton.

He has worked as a restaurant consultant, culinary director, and executive chef at various places. His experience inclues being:

• Executive Chef at Hotel Erwin in Venice Beach, Los Angeles (Jun 2021 – Jan 2022)
• Culinary Director at Lowell Cafe, America’s Original Cannabis Cafe (Sep 2019 – Mar 2020)
• Executive Chef at Trejo’s Tacos in Los Angeles (Aug 2016 – Jun 2019)
• Sous Chef at Plan Check in Greater Los Angeles Area (Oct 2012 – Jul 2016)

Mason Royal is of Jewish heritage. He married Lily Rosenthal in October 2025.
