Kluwek (or kluwak) is an Indonesian spice made from the seeds of the keluak tree. It has a distinctive earthy, nutty, and slightly fermented flavor that is commonly used in Malayan curries and other savory dishes. Incorporating kluwek into a chocolate chip cookie creates an unusual and intriguing flavor profile, blending the richness of chocolate with the earthy notes of the Balinese spice.
What is Awan?
